Ping and Speed Tests

On paper, SimplyNode is a provider that offers a lot, which is what most people are after. With that said, the advertisement is different than what a provider can offer in the real world, which is why we test these services. We used multiple US proxies and put them to the test to see the results.

Like most of our previous reviews, the test includes download and upload speeds, as well as the loaded and unloaded latency.

At first glance, you may think that the results are bad and this is a bad provider, but that’s not the case here. Keep in mind that we’re talking about residential and mobile IP addresses, so you shouldn’t expect gigabit speeds here. There are one or two IP addresses that didn’t offer impressive speeds, but we’d categorize them as pretty good.

Now, let’s talk about the latency, which is a bit more concerning. Even though we’ve seen worse numbers, some of these results aren’t too impressive. Seeing a higher latency on a loaded connection is expected, but over 700 ms is a bit too much.

The results here are a mixed bad. You’re looking at pretty good speeds but not the best latency. As long as you don’t need the proxies for a project that requires low latency, you’ll be fine.

This is why we put SimplyNode’s proxies to the test.

Good residential proxies rarely fail this test, which is the case with SimplyNode. All IP addresses showed that they are from the US and read as residential or business type of proxies. The entire service is in one window, meaning that you won’t have to bother navigating around. You have two options, depending on the type of proxies you purchased, and everything is there.

On the top part, you have the package section outlining how much traffic you purchased and how much you’ve spent. There’s also the option to purchase additional bandwidth through the dashboard, which is practical. Below is the proxy section, where you will find the Usage graphs showing you how much bandwidth you’ve used. The proxy setup section is also here, allowing you to add a whitelisted IP address and tweak the rotation interval, ranging from 90 seconds to 6 hours. There’s also the option to set a custom period if you need to.

The bottom of the dashboard is reserved for the generator, where you can modify the geo-targeting options and generate the proxy list. There are 4 targeting options: country, region, city, and ISP. Keep in mind that there are some limitations to this, depending on which country you plan on using. For some of the smaller ones, you won’t have the option to choose a city or an ISP.

Overall, SimplyNode has one of the simplest dashboards in the industry, which is why we’d recommend this provider to beginners.

How to Authorize & Use

SimplyNode follows the trend of the big players in the industry, offering two types of authentications. The username and password combination is available to you in the dashboard, and you can use the generator to create the string, which you’ll just need to paste into whatever tool you’re using.

For the IP whitelist option, it’s just as simple. You can set the whitelisted IP address to the one you’re using and select that authentication method in the generator section. The proxy list information will change, and you’ll only have the URL and the port number.

SimplyNode isn’t a provider you’ll see on many lists, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s poor. It covers all the crucial areas that most people are looking for in a provider, which is why we say you should consider it at least.

When you combine the overall experience of SimplyNode, you can understand why we say that most people won’t have any issues with usability. The simple-to-use slider on the website and the quick checkout option mean you’ll have access to your account in no time.

Once you get the login credentials and you go into the dashboard, you’re greeted with a simple and clear dashboard that doesn’t take much to figure out. Everything is on the same page, which is why there isn’t a navigation panel on the side like with many of its rivals.

SimplyNode is one of the simpler and easier-to-use proxy providers, meaning that it’s also suitable for beginners.

Pricing

As far as the pricing is concerned, SimplyNode is far from the most expensive option on the market, but it’s decently affordable. Sure, there are providers that offer their services for less, but it means that you’ll be making more compromises.

With prices starting from $6 per GB for the residential proxies and $8 for the mobile ones, you’re getting quite a decent proxy service. With plenty of features and an easy-to-use dashboard, we feel like SimplyNode is worth the money.

Reliability

As you’ve seen from the test results, the proxies we tested from SimplyNode had no issues. Sure, the latency is higher than some of its competitors, but we didn’t experience any downtime during our testing. The same goes for the dashboard. We had no issues accessing it and tweaking the proxy settings whenever we needed to.

Support

When it comes to support, SimplyNode does okay, but it’s not on the same level as the bigger players in the industry. The company has a ticketing system for when you need some assistance, which isn’t too bad. There’s also the option to reach out via email or chat on the website. With that said, there’s no option for phone support.

In terms of content on the website, it’s not too great. The FAQ section covers a handful of questions that are aimed more towards potential customers, not existing ones. There is a link to the help center, but it just leads to the homepage. We’d like to see this addressed so that we can give this provider the thumbs up for its support.

Verdict

Talking about these lesser-known providers often reveals things that we often mention here. Despite the lack of popularity, some providers are worth considering, and SimplyNode is one of them.

There isn’t a lot of information about this company, which isn’t the worst thing in the world. Sure, people often go for those that have some information, but we’ve seen many “incognito” companies that have proven to be excellent choices, so we’re not marking this as a negative.

In terms of the available products, it’s not one of those providers that has everything. With SimplyNode, you can get residential or mobile proxies, so if you’re looking for datacenter ones, you’ll need to look at other providers. Despite not having datacenter IP addresses, the performance of the other types is excellent. You’re looking at speeds comparable to some of the bigger names in the industry.
