The world of proxies has been on a constant growth for the past decades. This kind of growth resulted in many new providers which is always a good thing. The more options you have, the bigger the competitions, meaning you get competitive prices along with services that aim to do better. With the new options popping up constantly, what about the older ones? Providers that have been on the market for longer, are they still relevant?

If you do a deeper dive in this segment, you’ll find that there are many older proxy providers that are still active to this day. Many believe that newer is better, but that isn’t always the case. Yes, newer can be better, but only if the older one isn’t following the trend and doesn’t do anything in terms of improvements.

There are plenty of older proxy providers, many of which are still active today and one of those is ResiProx. Even though it’s not a provider that’s been with us since the birth of this niche, it’s been around for long enough to say that there might be something worth about it. Is it really or should we stick to the modern counterparts?

ResiProx

Proxy providers rely on marketing and promises with the hopes of attract customers and ResiProx is no different. The company outlines everything it has to offer, which is a big advantage over some of its rivals that aren’t as transparent. This gives it a trustworthy feel with potential clients, and it’s a shame because this provider isn’t one that you’ll find on many top 10 lists.

With that said, there’s one thing with ResiProx that will stand out. Navigating through the website you’ll notice that there is a discrepancy with the numbers. Yes, with most providers the pool size changes constantly, so we’ll assume that’s the reason why some of the numbers don’t match.

While this may seem like good news and a provider that you should definitely choose, it’s not a clear sign that it really is a good provider. This is why we do these reviews and today we’ll be taking a look at ResiProx to determine if it’s a provider worth considering.

Pros
  • Wide range of location coverage
  • Mobile and Residential proxies are available
  • The dashboard is very easy to use
  • No monthly subscription
  • Plenty of packages to choose from
Cons
  • Only support is via email
  • Some IP addresses didn’t perform as expected
  • Username and password authentication only

Proxy types, Features, and Pricing

The first advantage ResiProx has to offer is the ability to choose between different proxy types. Sure, it’s not like the big players in the field offering every kind of IP address in existence, but with residential and mobile proxies in its arsenal, we can’t fault it. Having these two types means that with this provider you’re covering most use cases, so it’s not a massive drawback.

Let’s start with the golden standard, the residential proxies, as these are the most common type most people will be after. ResiProx claims to have over 80 million IP addresses in over 200 locations, which pretty good as far as pool size and location coverage is concerned. There are plenty of IP addresses to go around and you’ll hardly be in a situation where you won’t find a proxy from the location you need.

ResiProx Residential Proxies

On the features side of things, ResiProx offers everything that the prominent names in the industry have to offer. You get HTTPS and SOCKS5 support from proxies which should have low response time and great speeds.

In addition to that, each package offers unlimited threads and sessions, along with over 150 integrations and the option to choose between a rotating and a sticky session. Considering the size of the pool, the geo-targeting option and the ability to choose IP addresses from specific countries cities and ZIP codes can be very practical if you’re after something specific.

The pricing structure is pretty standard and quite flexible. Since you have access to the entire pool, you’re paying based on the amount of traffic you’ll need. You have 9 packages to choose from starting from 1 GB to 1,000 GB. The set of features is identical across all packages, so the only difference is the price per GB, depending on the size of the package. The bigger the package, the more affordable the price per GB is.

Next up we have the mobile proxies which as with most providers isn’t the most extensive option as the residential ones. The pool consists of over 18 million IP addresses in over 140 countries, which is pretty good and on par with many of the premium providers. Even though it’s not as much as the residential, the use cases for these proxies is different and most people don’t need as much.

ResiProx Mobile Proxies

The set of features is quite extensive and ResiProx offers the real deal. The pool is a combination of 3G, 4G and 5G proxies, meaning that the performance will vary. Like with the residential proxies, you have the option to choose between a rotating and a sticky session. The advanced geo-targeting feature is available with the mobile proxies as well, allowing you to target IP addresses from specific ASNs, cities or carriers.

The pricing structure for the mobile proxies is identical to the residential ones as well. You have 9 packages to choose from depending on the bandwidth starting from 1 GB going all the way to 1,000 GB, with the price varying depending on the size of the package. For the bigger ones, the price per GB is lower than with the smaller ones.

A proxy provider with so many promises means most people would want to test it out before deciding if it’s worth getting a package. The good news with ResiProx is that there is a free trial option, which despite being limited, should be enough to test if it’s a provider that would work for you.

Location of Proxy Servers

One of the most flexible features a proxy provider can offer is the list of locations. Some providers can be a bit limited, which isn’t the case with ResiProx. This provider’s pool of residential proxies span across over 200 locations worldwide, meaning there isn’t a single use-case where you won’t find an IP address from the desired location.

ResiProx Locations

It’s a similar story with the mobile proxies. With these IP addresses you’re looking at over 140 locations, which may not be as extensive as residential ones, but it’s still quite flexible. In most use cases, most individuals or companies are rarely using more than 20 or 30 countries across the world, usually targeting the bigger and popular ones on each continent.

Ping and Tests

Providers tend to make some bold claims and promises, but they aren’t always able to back those claims. To see how realistic ResiProx is with the claims, we put the IP addresses through a few tests to estimate the performance. The first test is ping and speed, which is one of the most crucial aspects for most people.

IPs of Rotating Proxy Ping Download Upload
79.177.141.114 320 14.41 17.83
66.181.183.195 540 14.37 14.25

176.134.7.102 232 16.68 3.13
45.117.200.216 VPS IP 31 98.04 74.44

Looking at the table becomes clear that the results are pretty good, at least for most proxies. Considering we’re using residential; we shouldn’t expect steady speeds across the board. With that said, there is one whose download speed isn’t overly promising.

On the latency side of things, ResiProx claims response times below 0.3 seconds and most proxies on this list back that claim. There are some which are a bit above that mark, which isn’t too concerning, but there is one which is almost double. Again, we believe this to be an isolated incident because most of the proxies are performing well.

Overall, the results are pretty good. It’s not the best numbers we’ve seen in this industry, but they’re also very far from the worst. In most cases, people or businesses will probably face zero issues.

GEOlocation/ISP Test

Some use cases involve getting IP addresses from specific locations which is where geo-targeting comes into play. This is why it’s essential for the proxies to be from the advertised location and most importantly not to be identified as proxies. With that in mind, let’s see how well ResiProx did in this test.

45.117.200.216 VPS IP 45.117.200.216 AS132115 – ISPL-AS-AP India Good IP (residential or business)

As you can see from the table above, every IP address passed this test which shouldn’t be a massive surprise. The proxies we tested were residential ones, and we’ve seen them fail this test a handful of times with some shady proxy providers. ResiProx isn’t one of those, so all IP addresses were identified as good and were from the correct location.

IP Compatibility Test

The main selling point with residential and mobile proxies if for them to pass detection and give you full access to geo-restricted content. Our regular compatibility test involves trying to access some of the strictest websites online with proxies to see which ones work as advertised and which don’t.

Residential proxies are known to give you all-access pass to any website and ResiProx’s ones don’t disappoint, almost. Every IP address we tested, including our VPS passed this test with no issues. The first proxy in the list didn’t work with Nike, which is a bit concerning. People get residential proxies due to their ability to hid that they’re proxies, so we hope this is another isolated incident and not a common occurrence.

Features

A good proxy provider isn’t just about speed and pool size, it’s about feature. These features can make or break your usage experience, so let’s go through some of the most important ones that ResiProx has to offer.

Flexible packaging

One of the biggest drawbacks with some proxy providers is being limited with the pricing structure. Having few packages to choose from can be a dealbreaker for some people, especially for individual use which is why they often go for the competitors. Things aren’t this way with ResiProx because you have 9 packages to choose from. They range from 1 to 1,000 GB and if you reach out to support, you might get a custom package with even more bandwidth.

Free trial

The free trial option has been available with this provider for a long time and it’s one of the reasons why some people are huge fans of it. ResiProx changed its policy throughout the years and the most recent changed allowed them to decline a free trial request. They’re generally okay with companies but want to avoid potential misuse by individuals.

One thing to keep in mind, the company has an activation feature, meaning that the free trial isn’t completely free. There is a small fee to be paid to get the account activated even if you want a free trial.

Large pool of proxies

Working with a big pool of proxies is ideal for most personal and business use case because the more IP addresses, the better the chances of getting the project completed. With ResiProx you have pretty big pools of IP addresses with over 80 million for the residential ones and over 18 million for the mobile. These numbers aren’t the biggest in the proxy industry but are big enough for us to praise this provider.

Wide range of countries to choose from

Even though a massive pool of proxies is ideal, the list of locations can be equally if not more important and ResiProx doesn’t disappoint in this department. The residential proxies cover a list of over 200 worldwide locations, while the mobile ones come from over 140 countries. In both cases, you’re looking at very flexibl3 list of countries and there’s hardly any situation where you’ll feel like you need more.

Advanced geo-targeting

Whenever you go for a proxy provider with that many proxies and countries to choose from, you’re often in need of something that can offer a flexible targeting option. This is why geo-targeting is essential and ResiProx has you covered. For the residential proxies you can choose IP addresses based on the carries, country, city or ZIP code, while for the mobile ones you can choose from specific ASN, city or carrier.

Flexible session options

Another flexible side of ResiProx is the ability to choose the duration of the session. For browsing, managing social media accounts or similar cases, you have the option to use the sticky session which will allow you to hold on to the same IP address for as long as possible. On the other hand, for projects like scraping, you have the rotating session which will assign you a new IP address with each request.

Easy to use dashboard

One of the things that often gets overlooked or at least falls in the shadow of performance is how easy is it for a service to be used. ResiProx takes this seriously giving you a dashboard that’s simple, intuitive allowing you to focus on the project rather than trying to figure out how the settings work.

Additional tools

Most providers are all about offering proxies, this focusing on that part of the business. A few offer a few additional tools and ResiProx falls in that category. The first tool is the one that identifies your IP address, which is a great too to check if the proxy is applied to your connection. The second tool is an IP lookup which isn’t a necessity, but it can be handy in certain situations.

Crypto payment

Even though cryptocurrencies are becoming a mainstream payment option, not all proxy providers accept them, which isn’t the case with ResiProx. Apart from the traditional payment options, this provider accepts crypto payments, which only adds to the flexibility.

Free consultation

If you’re new to proxy use, you probably have tons of questions you need answered and ResiProx has you covered. The company offers a 15-minute free consultation session where you’ll talk to a representative who will answer all your questions and help you decide the best type of proxies for your project and the size of the package.

Easy to use

People are often too focused on the performance and numbers of proxy providers and neglect the essential parts, like ease of use. Being able to use the proxies without too much hassle is crucial and ResiProx paid attention to this.

The dashboard homepage is simple and offers the most basic information about getting started. On the top you have the main navigation which will take you to the type of proxies you want to use or the billing section if you need to buy more bandwidth.

Each proxy page is identical and intuitive, giving you everything you need in a single page. The top left corner is to tweak the proxy settings such at location and to get the credentials. On the right you can export a list of proxies where you can choose the size of the list as well as the format.

Below are two graphs. The one on the left outlines your traffic usage which is crucial since the bandwidth is limited across all packages. The right graph shows you a list of websites and how much of that bandwidth is used there.

Easy to Use Dashboard

On the bottom you can get code examples in couple of coding languages as well as the option to choose which protocol you want to use. These are just samples, so you’ll need to tweak things additionally.

How to authenticate

Unlike some of its rivals, ResiProx only offers username and password authentication. It may be slightly limiting, but considering the use cases for this provider, most people will be fine with that.

With all the information you need in a single page, the username and password combination is in the top left corner of the dashboard for both types of proxies. You can copy them from there or export a list and the system automatically adds them to each line.

Verdict

ResiProx isn’t a provider that you’ll find most people praising which is a shame. It’s not the perfect option, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad one. The services is good and for most use cases people will be perfectly happy with it.

Usability

As far as usability it concerned, ResiProx does a phenomenal job of simplifying things. The dashboard is easy to use, everything is in one place, and you can get your project running immediately. You won’t have to worry about navigating through complex menus and with everything clearly outlined, you won’t have to dig through to find the necessary information.

Pricing

The pricing structure of ResiProx is very flexible and unlike many of its rivals it’s not a monthly retainer. Instead, this provider goes for a pre-paid package where the duration is unlimited, meaning as long as you have some traffic left you can use the service.

As for the packages themselves, you have 9 to choose from for both types of proxies which is pretty good and more than many of its rivals. They range from 1 GB to 1,000 GB with the option to request more after you reach out to the support staff.

Reliability

During testing, we found that everything worked as intended. Yes, some of the tests weren’t as impressive as we hoped, but the proxes worked. The same goes for the service itself. We experienced no issues with the dashboard like slow loading times or blocked access. Everything works and that’s what’s important for people looking to complete their projects without any hiccups.

Support

Support seems to be the weakest point of ResiProx, especially when compared to similar rivals. The only way to get help is to send an email which is fine, but with no FAQ or knowledgebase section, many beginners will struggle to decide if this provider will be a good option for them.

Our Editor’s Verdict

Whenever we look at a proxy provider, we often try to be objectifve to give you a clear picture and help you decide if that provider is a good one for you. We took the same approach with ResiProx which we knew won’t be perfect, so let’s summarize everything you need to know about this provider.

ResiProx offers residential and moble proxies, both of which have pretty big pools and a wide area coverage. This combined with the advance geo-targeting feature makes it a perfect choice for all kinds of applications. The pricing structure is also very flexible, giving you plenty of options to choose from based on your needs and the best part is that it’s not a monthly subscription, meaning you can use the bandwidth for a long as you need to.

The performance of the proxies is pretty good, but not perfect. While most proxies delivered very good numbers and had no issues accessing the sites we use for testing, there was one that didn’t perform as we hoped. In out website testing we also noticed one that didn’t pass on all websites. The good news is that this doesn’t apply for all proxies, meaning you can switch the IP and get the performance you need.

With the performance aside, let’s talk about something which we hope to see addressed and that’s the support. ResiProx only has email support, which isn’t a problem by itself, but it can be a struggle for some, especially beginners. With no way to see how the system works or get some questions answered, they may struggle to get all that information immediately.

As a package, ResiProx is a provider that offers a lot and won’t be a massive strain on your budget. It’s not the most affordable option on the market, but it’s one that’s flexible enough to be attractive for most use cases. There are some nuances, but as a whole, it’s a provider that we can recommend.
